Botswana - Chobe National Park is located in Botswana on the east side of the Okavango Delta and encompasses four different ecosystems. Established in 1968, the park covers approximately 11,700 square kilometers and includes floodplains, swamps, and forests. The Chobe River forms the northern border. The Savuti swamp is a special area and offers one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa all year round. Chobe has about 120,000 elephants. You cannot miss them when enjoying a safari here. The best time to visit Chobe is between May and September, the dry, cooler winter months. Herds of zebras, elands, buffaloes, giraffes, and wildebeests cluster together in the Savuti swamp during this period. Chobe is easily accessible by car, making it less expensive than some other parks in Botswana. There is a wide range of accommodations available for every budget. You can even rent a houseboat if you want.
