Jordan - Along the way, I enjoy the daily life outside. Meanwhile, Mohammed gives commentary about the history through the microphone. It’s a bit hard to hear, and I let it pass me by. We get out at a resort by the Dead Sea, where lunch is already waiting for us. Outside, there’s a beautiful swimming pool, shops, and changing rooms. But we’ve come to swim in the Dead Sea, a few meters below. The Dead Sea is the lowest-lying lake in the world. Its surface lies over 400 meters below sea level and continues to drop. Because of the high concentration of minerals, no life is possible in the water. The salt also makes it incredibly easy to float. It's a strange sensation to remain afloat in the water. It’s practically impossible to go completely underwater. In the deeper parts, you can float upright like a bobber without touching the bottom. The mud on the bottom contains many minerals and is good for your skin. For a few dinars, we cover ourselves in mud from head to toe. While drying, we have a lot of fun taking a muddy group photo. After about ten minutes, we go back into the water to rinse off the mud. I wash my face under the shower at the top of the beach to avoid getting salt water in my mouth.
