Namibia - Fortunately, today we can sleep in until seven o’clock. We leave at half past eight. After breakfast and packing, we drive toward Swakopmund. On the way, we visit Cape Cross. At Cape Cross lies a seal colony of about 100,000 seals. Thomas points out that you first smell the seals, then hear them, and finally see them. This sequence proves to be correct. The immense population of seals is remarkable to see. Wherever you look, there are seals. Many seals. The animals trample over each other when they want to get to the water. Among the seals are also dead ones. Jackals feast on these carcasses. The seals lie right behind a low wall, allowing you to get very close for photos. From Cape Cross, we drive about 130 kilometers more to Swakopmund. The journey goes through the desert. Everyone except Thomas dozes off a bit. Around two o’clock, we wake up again as we enter Swakopmund.

Namibia - Our next destination is Twijfelfontein. The road is gravel, and the bus shakes quite a bit over the bumps. Thomas keeps up a good speed but (fortunately) brakes in time for the potholes. At Twijfelfontein, Cheryl is somewhat unsure whether this is the ...
