New Zealand - Around half past one, we approach Hahei on the peninsula. At the edge of the town, there is a large parking area for cars. We decide not to use the shuttle bus but to walk to Hahei beach. Hahei beach is often called the most beautiful beach in New Zealand. The bay is nestled between rocks. The golden yellow sand lies beautifully beneath the bright blue sky. A few islands lie off the coast. This truly is a stunning location. From the beach, we follow the walking path to Cathedral Cove. The trail goes up and down to one of New Zealand’s most famous bays. The last part of the walk descends via a staircase. We arrive at the beach. To our left lies Cathedral Cove. A ten-meter-high arch in the rock offers passage to a second bay. The beach and some rocks in the sea stand out beautifully here. Back in Hahei, we order a beer on a terrace. The weather is still wonderful.
