Malaysia - Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia. The city has nearly two million inhabitants and is characterized by a great diversity of urban architecture; from old colonial buildings, Chinatown, and Little India to the modern and especially tall buildings that have dominated the skyline since the 1990s. It forms a separate federal territory within Malaysia. The most famous buildings in Kuala Lumpur are the Petronas Twin Towers, which, at 452 meters, were for a time the tallest buildings in the world (the Burj Dubai is currently the tallest building in the world). Besides these two towers, there is a lot of other high-rise architecture scattered throughout the city. An important tourist attraction is the "Menara KL" (KL Tower), a 421-meter-high television tower. The spire of this tower rises above that of the Petronas Towers because Menara KL is located on a hill called Bukit Nanas. In addition to all the modern buildings, there are still many colonial-era buildings found in the city center. However, there is not much high-rise development in the suburbs. There are also numerous shopping malls in Malaysia, which are often gigantic buildings full of shops. Some shopping malls even feature an ice rink, roller coasters, and more.
