Finland - Contrasts are an important factor in Lapland’s appeal. The hustle and bustle of cities and ski resorts lie just minutes away from the peace and quiet of nature. Snow is guaranteed in Finnish Lapland. Snow remains for up to six months a year. On clear winter nights, the Northern Lights dance through the sky in green waves, illuminating the silent snow-covered landscape. Several ski resorts have well-maintained slopes and snow parks. The opportunities on the extensive cross-country skiing trails, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, husky tours, and reindeer sled rides are just a taste of all the available activities. In summer, the midnight sun provides warmth and energy for activities in the white nights. Fly fishing, white-water rafting, golf, and gold panning are just a few examples of what is on offer. In September, as the autumn leaves change color, Lapland bursts into shades of yellow, orange, and red, making it an ideal time for outdoor sports such as hiking, trekking, and mountain biking.
