Mongolia - Today is a day to explore Ulaanbaatar. We walk from the hotel toward the city center. The Land Rover dealer, located near the hotel, is closed on Sundays. Tomorrow morning, we’ll stop by with Brutus. We’ve heard a strange noise, have concerns about the left front suspension, and can’t open the oil reservoir of the transfer case. Hopefully, we can get everything fixed here. At California, the restaurant where we had dinner last night, we order lunch. We’ve just sat down when a short but heavy rainstorm hits. Fortunately, we’re inside. After the rain, we continue walking to Genghis Khan Square. South of the square lies the Choijin Lama Monastery. The walled complex is now a museum, wedged between the tall buildings of the modern city—a strange sight. Inside the temples, beautiful Buddha statues, ornate masks, and painted cloths are on display. Still, the temple loses some of its value now that it has been turned into a museum
