Morocco - In Sidi Ifni, the hotel sits atop a rocky cliff with a beautiful view over the town and the Atlantic Ocean. Sidi Ifni was long an enclave of the Spanish, and Spanish influences are still very present in the town center. We walk through the center and along the beach, passing by some slightly touristy souvenir shops. A low sea mist rolls in from the ocean, creating a beautiful scene for photos. We stay on the beach until the sun touches the horizon. A warm orange glow bathes the town. As we walk back, we pass a fisherman on the beach. The image of him silhouetted against the setting sun is a real Kodak moment. In exchange for sending him the photo, I take his picture. He then offers to let me hold his fishing rod for a photo. A quick picture is taken of me as a sea fisherman at sunset. In the evening, we dine at a cozy little restaurant in town—actually, the only restaurant in Sidi Ifni. The fish is delicious, and the owner is enthusiastic. He ends the evening with a fun drum performance just for us.
