Cuba - Slept in nicely first. Because of that, we are late for breakfast. Luckily, after some talking, we are still allowed to quickly go in and eat something. After breakfast, we walk into Varadero with Abel. We visit a small cigar shop. Outside, a man demonstrates how cigars are made. We don’t buy cigars because Abel said he would arrange that for us. A little further on, Abel points out the bus to Havana for anyone who wants to spend a day in Havana. In the center of Varadero, we visit the tourist market. A market in a park full of stalls with purely tourist items: t-shirts, drums, wood carvings, and much more. We stroll around the market and stock up on souvenirs under the warm sun. We walk back along the beach and stop for drinks at a cozy beach bar. We walk about three-quarters of an hour along the beach and past the hotels. One hotel was half in the water. Here we have to wade through the water to get further. At our own hotel, we have lunch in the restaurant and settle on the beach. Just relaxing on the beach bed with a book in the shade. Occasionally a swim and a drink. Wonderful enjoyment. In the evening, we decide not to eat at the restaurant. Although food is included, we don’t like the buffet much. We walk into Varadero and eat at a steakhouse. Of course, a band performs here, but probably we pay little attention. After a few songs, the band leaves without asking for a tip.
