Bosnia_and_Herzegovina - Parking in a narrow alley next to the hotel. We carefully reverse the car into the alley. Several cars can park one after another here. If someone needs to get out, the hotel moves the other cars. We have to leave the keys for this. We walk into the center. The Baščaršija neighborhood forms the old city. The sun shines brightly and it is quite warm. Some souvenir sellers already say it is way too hot. It is 31 degrees Celsius. We look for a terrace to have a drink and something small to eat. A döner sandwich. The center of the old city of Sarajevo has an oriental appearance. Many small narrow streets with displayed goods. It somewhat resembles an Arab souq. Most stalls target tourists. Stall after stall sells the same goods. I cannot imagine so many tourists come here to give every vendor a good day. The large Gazi-Husrev-bey Mosque forms the center of the old city. Men are just entering for prayer. It is still Ramadan for them. Via the Orthodox Cathedral, we walk to the Miljacka River. At the Latin Bridge in 1914, Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie were assassinated. This murder is seen as the trigger of the First World War. On the other side of the old town lies the striking City Hall, a triangular building constructed from yellow and red stone layers. You can also visit the town hall. We decide not to and order a beer on one of the terraces. Lovely as refreshment. In the evening, we walk into the old city again. It is pleasantly busy in the streets. Everywhere terraces. In an alley, we find a nice restaurant. The waiter recommends a Bosnian specialty: spiced meat with vegetables and potatoes. We decide to try it. It turns out a good choice. We end the evening with a walk along the Miljacka River. Slowly it gets dark and the lights come on. Above the hills around the city, lightning flashes. Hopefully, the storm does not pass over the mountains.

The old bridge of Mostar
Bosnia_and_Herzegovina - The Bosnian street scene looks noticeably poorer compared to Croatia. Here and there, you still see damaged houses from the Balkan War. It cannot be the landscape; nature is beautiful. The road winds through the hills and mountains. For tonight, we have ...
Una National Park
Bosnia_and_Herzegovina - Now the task is to find Una National Park. A passerby explains that we must turn right over the bridge. Then we will come across it naturally. Along the road, we see no signs or indications. Will it go well? When we are almost at the entrance, we see ...
