Suriname - We sail southwards towards Jodensavanne. A few kilometers before the plantation, we dock and go ashore. It is quite warm. Wearing a cap, sunscreen, and carrying enough water, we walk the final kilometers towards the plantation. During the walk, Wibo provides explanations, and we visit a small village called Pierre Kondre. After about an hour and a half, we reach the spring. Although the spring does not look particularly appealing, we drink from it one by one. From there, we walk towards Jodensavanne. Just outside Jodensavanne lies the non-Jewish cemetery with old wooden crosses. A little further, we visit the Jewish cemetery with stone graves and see the remains of the synagogue. Part of the group boards the boat here, while we continue walking through the rainforest. Along a narrow path, we walk through the greenery. On the way, Wibo shows us how palm weaving is done and how arrows are made from bamboo. At the clearing by the river, the boat picks us up again.
