Norway - Along the way, the low clouds create stunning views across the fjords. In Linge, I cross the Norddalsfjord by ferry toward Eidsdal. From there, I continue toward Geiranger. Thankfully, the weather keeps improving. As I approach Geiranger, I get a magnificent view over the fjord. Unfortunately, there's not enough time to stop for a photo. The bus winds down the mountain through sharp hairpin bends into Geiranger. We arrive at the ferry just in time. Geiranger (300 inhabitants) is a small village at the end of the Geirangerfjord. This fjord is famous for its high, steep cliffs. Because of the great depth, large cruise ships can dock here. Ruud suggested we take the ferry to Hellesylt. This costs 55 NOK (€7.15) per person, including the fare for the bus. The journey continues from Hellesylt. By now, the weather is completely dry. From the top deck, I have an incredible view. The boat passes the Seven Sisters waterfall (Syv Søstre) and the tall Suitor waterfall (Friar). I also need to get lunch on board. But because the view is so spectacular, I’ve delayed it. When I finally head to the cafeteria, the port is already in sight. I quickly grab some sandwiches and hurry back to the bus.
