Belgium - High above the town of Bouillon lies the castle of the same name. The castle is situated on a rocky ridge in the Semois River, which flows around the castle. Godfrey of Bouillon lived in the castle in the tenth century. In 1096, he sold the castle to finance his crusade. The castle still has many medieval rooms that can be reached through narrow passages. From the basement, a low passage runs underneath the castle. The prison is located beneath the defense tower. From the tower, you have a view over the town of Bouillon. It is enjoyable to wander through the corridors and rooms of the castle. The sometimes narrow stairs lead me into different chambers. Just when I think I have seen all the passages, I return to the courtyard for the bird of prey demonstration. Various birds of prey fly low over the audience on command.
